Holidays to New York

The city that never sleeps - New York is a sprawling city that is one of the most popular in the USA and is a great choice for whatever you're looking for from a holiday, whether you want a romantic long weekend, a shopping trip or to take in the classic sights.

What Can I Do There?

There is so much to do in New York. Many of the main attractions are on Manhattan island but there is more across the rest of the city. The view everyone is looking for is from the viewing platform at the Empire State Building, this iconic building has a 360-degree platform that provides panoramic vistas across the whole city. Catch a ferry to see the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, the city's entrance for hundreds of years which those looking to emigrate to the United States had to pass through.

Where Should I Stay?

New York has loads of accommodation across the city and you'll never be far from anything if you stay on Manhattan island. Many people stay near Times Square as it is in the centre of the theatre district, near 5th Avenue and many other attractions. The city is connected well by the subway which can take you to most places. We recommend using this as traffic is bad and can be slow, especially if you need to get somewhere on time. The only time we recommend getting a car is to and from the airport.

How Do I Get There?

Two major airports service New York, John F. Kennedy Airport and Newark International Airport. Both are fairly close to New York with both being on either side of Manhattan. You can fly to Newark from London Heathrow and Edinburgh, you can fly to JFK from those two as well as Manchester and London Gatwick.
