Discover The Best Resort For You in Cyprus

A popular destination in southern Europe, Cyprus’ weather means that it can be an all-year-round choice. With many amazing things to see and do, choosing where you base yourself can be difficult. With popular resorts and airports at Paphos and Larnaca along the west and southern coasts, as well as many others, we’re here to help you decide the best Cyprus resort for you.

Paphos

Sitting on Cyprus’ western coast, Paphos is one of the most popular resorts in Cyprus. Famous for its wealth of history dating back over 3000 years, it is also home to some beautiful sandy beaches upon which sit some amazing hotels. These hotels which range from 2 & 3* hotels and apartments all the way up to luxury 5-star properties such as The Annabelle & the Constantinou Bros Asimina Suites sit to the north and south of the historic centre in walking or a short taxi ride distance. Offering a range of board bases, it is best to go with bed and breakfast so that you can experience the wonderful cuisine that Cyprus has to offer. Discover the rich history at the Archaeological Site of the Tombs of the Kings or Nea Paphos which houses an Agora, a Lighthouse and the House of Dionysus. Said to be the birthplace of Aphrodite, the beauty of Paphos is there for all to see. With easy access from its nearby international airport, Paphos may be the choice for you.

Limassol

The second largest city in Cyprus and the biggest resort, Limassol has plenty to offer those who visit. A modern city that has all the amenities you could need, take a walk along the city’s beautiful waterfront or relax on one of its many beaches. These beaches are found to the east and west of the city as its waterfront is lined with large sandstone rocks. There are 5 sandy beaches in Limassol, the pick of which are Dasoudi, a Blue Flag beach, to the east and Lady’s Mile Beach, which is west of the city. Outside of its many great hotels and beaches, there are lots of things to see and do in Limassol. There is history, in the form of a medieval castle and several ancient archaeological sites, and as a modern city, there are shops, cafes and restaurants for you to spend your time in too.

Larnaca

The other city with an international airport that serves the east of Cyprus, Larnaca is another popular destination with a great mix of city and beach vibes. With a long stretch of golden sandy beach running parallel to the promenade, Larnaca, like Paphos, is great if you want easy access to the beach within a short distance of the airport. Relax on the Blue Flag beach at Kastella or see the Flamingos at the inland Salt Lake. If you like history, check out the Church of Saint Lazarus. Larnaca’s hotels offer a great mix of easy access to the city or beach, with many of the beachfront hotels being just out of town.

Ayia Napa

One of the most popular and well-known resorts in Cyprus, Ayia Napa is the perfect place to go if you want to relax by the beach during the day and party at night. This said, there are still lots of things to do outside of this and the resort is becoming much more well-rounded with plenty of hotel offerings for families and is highlighting smaller, less crowded beaches as well as some of the history of the area. It is therefore important to choose where you are staying so that you can have the kind of holiday you are looking for.

Protaras

Sitting on the opposite side of the peninsula to Ayia Napa, Protaras and Fig Tree Bay are much quieter than their neighbours and are therefore an excellent choice for families with young children. Protaras has a number of great beaches to relax on, each has lovely soft, golden sand and stretches along Fig Tree Bay. With plenty of restaurants, bars and cafes along them as well as sunloungers, Protaras is a perfect beach holiday destination. There is also a large selection of restaurants, especially along the main street, so there is plenty of choice.
